ARE YOU A BOSS OR A LEADER?
The difference is huge and so
is the payoff
Jackey Backman’s power-packed,
two-day Transformational Leadership
workshop — offered for
the first time ever in Halifax
April 24-25 — is the training
that should accompany every
promotion to the leadership
ranks. Backman shows her clients
how to champion their teams,
handle workplace “Bad
Apples,” and get the results
they were hired to create.
She teaches powerfully effective
techniques for gaining staff
buy-in, creating a “what
more can I do” attitude,
dealing with difficult people,
deciding when to manage and
when to lead, and how to stop
babysitting and start leading.
Participants get strategies
for overcoming their fears when
dealing with conflict and confrontation,
and gain the confidence to handle
any challenge. The outcome is
a workplace primed for success.
This highly interactive workshop
will be offered in a total of
five Canadian cities this year.
In addition to Halifax, Transformational
Leadership training is offered
in Ottawa (June 25-26), Toronto
(June 28-29), Edmonton (Nov.
19-20), and Calgary (Nov. 22-23).
Jackey has shown hundreds of
leaders throughout North America
and Europe just how simple it
is to transform their staff
into highly motivated, self-respecting,
and highly productive and valuable
team members.
Her clients include the National
Research Council of Canada,
the Salvation Army, Sport Canada,
Human Resources Development
Canada, Paramount Energy, Supreme
Basics, PriceWaterhouse Coopers,
York University and the University
of Virginia.
Terry Lindstrom of the National
Research Council Canada says
the Transformational Leadership
workshop was well worth the
investment for his management
team. “At the end of the
seminar our team moved beyond
the theory into practical role
playing dealing with real life
situations. (It was) clearly
the best teaching approach and
dynamics I've every experienced.”
And Scott Shawyer, the CEO of
JMP Engineering in London, Ontario
says, "Jackey demonstrated
her own personal leadership
ability and her deep understanding
of what truly motivates people.
I feel she has directly impacted
my success as a leader."
